Truck drivers rally in Taiz to cancel high taxes

TAIZ, Jan. 19 (YPA) – A number of heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers raised protest banners on the Al-Turbah road, which is under the control of the coalition in Taiz province, demanding the cancellation of the taxes that imposed.

In a rally, the drivers pointed out that the pro-Islah Party factions impose financial levies of up to 5,000 riyals on every truck that passes through their security checkpoints in Al-Turbah, which has exacerbated their suffering.

They called for the tax points and levies imposed by these factions to be cancelled, stressing that such practices increase the living burdens and affect their sources of livelihood.
