DAMASCUS, Jan. 15 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation announced on Wednesday its forces seized more than 3,300 items of military equipment from Syria, including army tanks, anti-tank missiles and mortar shells.
In a statement, the occupation army said that “the forces of the 210th Division continued to carry out their mission in Syria.
“As part of the mission, the forces found more than 3,300 weapons and documents, including Syrian army tanks, rifles, anti-tank missiles, RPG shells, mortars, launchers, reconnaissance equipment and other combat equipment,” the statement added.
The occupation army did not specify the locations or dates of the seizure of these Syrian military units, but last December it announced some forces took over the Syrian buffer zone in the Golan Heights, violating the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
By entering the Syrian buffer zone, the Israeli army expanded its occupation of the Golan Heights, most of which it has occupied since the June 5, 1967 war. The control of the buffer zone came after Syrian factions overthrew the Bashar al-Assad regime on December 8.
