Pro-coalition Mahra authorities ban demonstrations in the province

MAHRA, Jan. 09 (YPA) – The pro-coalition local authorities in Mahra province, eastern Yemen, renewed their decision to ban demonstrations and festivals in anticipation of any local protests against foreign forces.

The so-called “Security Committee” re-published the decision, which was issued in 2020, and called on everyone to abide by it.

The announcement indicated that the local authority stood at an equal distance from all political and societal components.

The authority, represented by the security committee, affirmed that it would be committed to securing these events in a way that guarantees the exercise of this right in a peaceful and organized manner.

This came after the sit-in committee against foreign forces in Mahra announced its escalation against the recruitment process that Saudi Arabia carried out to recruit the so-called Dare al-Watan factions from extremist Salafist groups.
