WORLD, Dec. 18 (YPA) – The Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, announced on Tuesday his readiness to establish a demilitarized zone in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) and deploy security forces under American supervision and presence.

“To Confirm our steadfast commitment to achieving a comprehensive ceasefire throughout Syria, we announce our readiness to propose the establishment of a demilitarized zone in Kobani, with the redeployment of security forces under the US supervision and presence,” Mazloum Abdi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

He added, “This initiative is to address Turkish security concerns and ensure permanent stability in the region.”

The Manbij area, which has an Arab majority in northeastern Aleppo province, is controlled by the Manbij Military Council, composed of local fighters operating under the umbrella of the SDF, with the Kurds being its backbone and supported by the US.
