Aden government imposes new price on cooking gas

ADEN, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The coalition-backed Aden government has imposed a new dose of cooking gas on citizens in Aden city, south of Yemen.

Citizens reported that they were surprised that the price of a 20-liter cooking gas cylinder had increased YR 8,000, after it stabilized at 7500.

The new price coincided with the Abyan tribes preventing the passage of fuel and gas tankers to Aden in protest against the disappearance of Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani since last June.

They stressed that the increase in the price of cooking gas doubles the suffering of the people due to the economic collapse and the rise in the price of food without any reforms being carried out by the government.

The government has been trying to achieve the highest percentage of revenues without improving the living conditions of citizens, while the famine is spreading in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces.

This came after the Aden government had imposed YR 9,000 on gas-filled vehicles early last October, an increase of YR 1,500.
