Saudi-backed factions kidnap head of Revolutionary Movement Council in Lahj

LAHJ, Nov. 15 (YPA) – The Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” factions kidnapped the head of the political bureau of the “Supreme Council for the Southern Revolutionary Movement” in the Al-Mudharaba area, west of Lahj governorate.

In a statement, the Council described the kidnapping of the head of the political bureau, Abdul Wali Al-Subaihi, as an arbitrary crime that lacks any legal justification.

He considered the kidnapping incident as a flagrant violation of human rights and international humanitarian law, and a serious targeting of the “Southern Revolutionary Movement” and its leaders.

The statement indicated that Al-Subaihi’s kidnapping comes within a series of arbitrary arrests that have affected many leaders and members of the movement during the past period.

The Council held the coalition authorities fully responsible about the life and safety of Al-Subaihi, calling on the sons of Al-Subaiha and political figures, local and international human rights organizations to condemn these violations and pressure for his immediate release.
