Four STC militiamen killed, seven injured in armed ambush in Abyan

ABYAN, Nov. 15 (YPA) – At least four militia members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed and seven others wounded on Friday in an armed ambush in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

Local sources confirmed that unknown gunmen, believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda, targeted a military vehicle belonging to the STC militias with an RPG missile at the entrance of Wadi Omran in the Mudiyah district.

The sources further explained that the ambush, which targeted the vehicle between the areas of Al-Fareedh and Sura, was followed by armed clashes after the STC’s reinforcements arrived in the area.

Another military vehicle rushed to the scene to evacuate the wounded, but it was also targeted by an IED, though no further casualties were reported from this attack.
