Pentagon sends new military reinforcements to Middle East

WASHINGTON, Nov. 02 (YPA) – The US Department of Defense “Pentagon” declared on Saturday it had sent additional ballistic missile defense destroyers, fighter squadrons, tanker aircraft, and several long-range bombers to the Middle East.

The Pentagon said in a statement that the deployment came in line with the US’s commitments to protect American citizens and forces in the Middle East, defend the Israeli the occupation, and de-escalate tensions through deterrence and diplomacy.

The statement indicated that these forces would begin arriving in the coming months as the US aircraft carrier group USS Abraham Lincoln prepares to leave.

It also added that these deployments are based on the recent decision to deploy the THAAD missile defense system in the occupation as well as the ongoing position of the Department of Defense’s ready naval expeditionary unit in the eastern Mediterranean.
