Hamas warns of plans for demographic change in West Bank, calls for resistance

GAZA, Nov. 02 (YPA) – The Palestinian Hamas movement warned on Saturday of the efforts of the Israeli occupation authorities to bring about a change in the demographic reality in the occupied West Bank in order to complete the annexation plan that it began years ago.

Hamas senior member Mahmoud Mardawi said that what is happening in Masafer Yatta, the Jordan Valley, and the villages of Nablus, Salfit, Ramallah, and other West Bank cities “is a dangerous plan targeting the Palestinian presence in the West Bank.”

Mardawi warned in a press statement of the danger of the plans led by the extremist Israeli occupation government and settler gangs to displace the people of Palestinian villages in the West Bank.

The Hamas leader stressed the need for Palestinians to unite and support the people of those villages to resist and confront the systematic displacement operations carried out by arms of the Zionist establishment.

Mardawi added that the occupation “seeks to change the demographic reality and complete the plan to annex the West Bank, which it began implementing years ago and under which it seized thousands of dunums of citizens’ lands.”

He stressed that resistance in all its forms is the only option for Palestinians to protect their land and capabilities and to keep their cause alive in the face of the Zionist encroachment in the West Bank and the ongoing war of extermination in the West Bank.
