Hamas: Imposition of Israeli sovereignty on West Bank is “null and void”

GAZA, July 23 (YPA) -The Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, has declared the Israeli Knesset’s vote on a draft resolution to impose “sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank as “null and void, with no legitimacy.”

In its statement, Hamas asserted that this vote, which it views as a precursor to annexation, “will not change the identity of the Palestinian land.”

“This measure represents a challenge to international laws and resolutions, as well as an extension of the widespread violations committed by the occupation government in the West Bank – including land theft, settlement expansion, along with the killing, arrest, and restrictions against our Palestinian people,” the statement read.

Hamas called upon the masses of Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and their living forces to unite, stand together, and escalate resistance in all its forms to thwart the fascist Zionist occupation’s schemes.

It also urged the international community and the UN to condemn this illegitimate step and put an end to the occupation’s recklessness, fascist policies, and ongoing violations against our Palestinian people’s rights that fuel and exacerbate tension in the region.
