GAZA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – At least 9 people were killed on Wednesday and dozens injured, including children, as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting the market street in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said.
The Beit Lahia Municipality in the northern Strip declared the city a disaster area, launching a distress call due to the war and the Israeli occupation’s siege.
On Tuesday, the Gaza-based Ministry of Health said about 109 Palestinians, including 25 children, were killed in two massacres when Israeli aircraft bombed a residential building in the vicinity of the Salim Abu Muslim Mosque in the city of Beit Lahia.
The ministry launched urgent appeals and calls for help in searching for survivors or the bodies of victims under the rubble of the destroyed buildings, in light of the Civil Defense’s inability to reach them and provide first aid.
The city of Beit Lahia, like other towns and camps in the northern Gaza Strip, is under a state of total siege, as a result of the military operation that Israeli occupation carried out for the 26th consecutive day.
On October 5, 2023, the Israeli occupation began an unprecedented bombardment of the Jabalia camp and stormed town and large areas in the northern Gaza Strip, under the pretext of “preventing Hamas from regaining its strength in the area.
