OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 22 (YPA) – The number of arrests in the West Bank and occupied Quds has increased since October 7, 2023, to more than 10,200 Palestinians, including children and women.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, a human rights association, said in a statement today, Thursday, that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 25 Palestinian citizens during the past 24 hours; among them are two women, a child, and freed prisoners.
The Prisoners’ Club explained that the arrests were distributed across most of the governorates of the West Bank, noting that “arrest campaigns constitute the most prominent and consistent policy used by the occupation forces.”
“The occupation forces continue to carry out massive incursions during arrest campaigns, accompanied by attacks and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to sabotaging and destroying citizens’ homes,” the club added.
Arrests are also one of the most prominent tools of the collective punishment policy, which also constitutes a central tool for the occupation in targeting citizens, in light of the comprehensive aggression against Palestinian people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, according to the club.
At dawn on Thursday, the occupation forces arrested 14 Palestinian citizens, including children, from various areas in the West Bank after their family homes were stormed, and others through military checkpoints spread between Palestinian villages and cities.
