Gaza death toll rises to 73,399 amid ongoing recovery efforts

GAZA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – The Palestinian Health Ministry’s office in Gaza said on Monday that the death toll from Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,399 Palestinians killed, with 174,310 wounded, since October 7, 2023.

According to the ministry’s daily report, Gaza hospitals received five bodies—two newly killed Palestinians and three recovered from the rubble—and 18 injured people over the past 48 hours.

It said that since the ceasefire on October 11, the toll has reached 1,265 killed and 4,198 injured, while 813 bodies have been recovered.

The ministry added that many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews remain unable to reach them.
