Meteorology calls on relevant authorities to take measures due to ongoing rains

SANAA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has called on the relevant official authorities to take the necessary measures and procedures to protect lives and property as a result of the heavy rains.

In its weather bulletin, the center warned citizens in areas expected to get rain to take precautions and be careful not to be in valleys and torrents during and after rainfall.

It called on motorists to drive carefully on the mountainous roads as a result of the decrease in horizontal visibility due to rainfall and the formation of low clouds.

The center expected partly cloudy to cloudy weather in the mountainous highlands with varying amounts of rain falling on parts of the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Mahweet, Sanaa, Dhamar, Rayma, Ibb and Dhalea, in addition to Taiz, Bayda, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout and Mahra.

It pointed out that the atmosphere of the coastal areas may be partly cloudy, relatively dusty and hot, with maximum temperatures ranging between 32 – 37 degrees Celsius, around the Socotra Archipelago, eastern, southern and western coasts.
