Israeli occupation forces commit massacre in Bureij camp, threaten new incursion into Khan Yunis

GAZA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army committed on Thursday a new massacre in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip and ordered residents of neighborhoods in Khan Yunis to evacuate them in preparation for launching a military operation there.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that 15 Palestinians were martyred when Israeli warplanes bombed homes located within a residential square in the Bureij camp.

Pictures circulated on social media showed massive destruction in the targeted residential area, and some of the martyrs and injured were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Palestinian sources said that most of the victims of the massacre (martyrs and wounded) were children, and activists published a picture of a girl wrapped in a white shroud after she was martyred in the bombing.

Also in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian websites reported from local sources that four people were killed in an Israeli raid northeast of the Nuseirat camp.

In a timely toll, medical sources told Al-Jazeera that 31 Palestinians were martyred as a result of the continued Israeli bombing of various areas in the Gaza Strip since dawn today.

At dawn today, five Palestinians were martyred as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted a house on Al-Sahaba Street in Gaza City, and three martyrs were recovered from Al-Sikka Street on the outskirts of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of the city.

Also in Gaza City, military vehicles stationed south of the college opened heavy fire.

In the northern Gaza Strip, two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in Al-Jabalia refugee camp. Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that last night Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a house in neighboring Beit Lahia, causing a fire to break out in it before civil defense crews were able to extinguish it.

In the southern Gaza Strip, an Al-Jazeera correspondent reported the martyrdom of a Palestinian following a raid carried out by an Israeli drone in Khan Yunis, and a woman was martyred before that in a separate raid on the town of Abasan, east of the city.

In the city of Rafah, which has been subjected to an Israeli invasion since last May, ambulance crews recovered the bodies of two martyrs and transported them to the Nasser complex in Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that the Israeli occupation army committed four massacres that claimed the lives of 22 and injured 77 others within 24 hours, which brings the total number of victims of the Israeli aggression to 39,699 martyrs and 91,722 wounded since October 7.
