STC members assault judicial official in Aden

ADEN, June 27 (YPA) – The public prosecution loyal to the coalition in the city of Aden in southern Yemen announced its refusal to receive cases files from the police departments under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

On Wednesday, the Chief Prosecutor of Aden, Wadah Badhib, called on all prosecutors in the Aden regions not to receive any preliminary documents or case files from the police and criminal investigation departments and the Aden security department, until the accused who assaulted the prosecutor of Ahwar district in Abyan governorate, Rami Salem Al-Damani, are arrested by armed elements loyal to STC in Khor Maksar Police.

He confirmed that Al-Damani was subjected to physical and moral assault and arrest by Khor Maksar police officers, knowing that he was working as an agent for Ahwar Public Prosecution Office.

The Chief Prosecutor called on everyone to join hands to protect their dignity and the status of members of the prosecution and the judiciary, stressing the need for perpetrators to be imprisoned.
