GAZA, April 07 (YPA) – At least 31 people have died, including 28 children, in the Gaza Strip due to malnutrition and dehydration, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Sunday.
The PCBS said in a statement that “more than 90% of children under the age of 5 years were infected with at least one infectious disease in the Strip.”
The statement pointed out that cases of miscarriages and premature births have also increased in Gaza since October 7.
“The World Health Organization documented over 600 attacks on medical facilities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank,” it added. “Out of 36 operating hospitals in the Strip, only 10 hospitals are partially operating, 4 in the north of the Strip and 6 in the south and center.”
The PCBS’s statement explained “76% of primary health care centers in the Gaza Strip have stopped.”
“The Israeli aggression and ongoing siege on Gaza, the lack of medical supplies, food, water, and fuel, and the exposure of medical workers to attacks, which have led to the depletion of the health system in the Strip,” it stated.
