Palestinian Prisoners’ Club reveals horrific crimes against prisoners in Israeli occupation jails

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 22 (YPA) – The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club on Tuesday revealed horrific crimes committed against prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons.

The club said in a report, “After 654 days of the war of genocide, the occupation’s prison system continues to commit its systematic crimes against more than 10,800 prisoners.”

The report added that the Israeli occupation is practicing a policy of starvation and systematic physical assault. It stated that scabies has spread, and there has been a systematic denial of treatment.

One of the testimonies included an assault on a prisoner that resulted in broken ribs, and that prison “kettle” units deliberately extinguished cigarettes on his body.

Other testimonies included the use of electric irons to beat prisoners and the firing of rubber bullets at their extremities.

In this context, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation revealed on Monday that “Palestinian prisoners from Gaza and Lebanese prisoners are being held in an underground cement vault in conditions that are almost nonexistent.”

The broadcasting corporation indicated that the prisoners are confined to their cells 24 hours a day, except for one hour during which they are allowed to go out into the “yard,” a small, fortified room with cement walls and a small amount of light visible through bars in the ceiling.
