Yemeni forces launch missile attack on US navy ship in Gulf of Aden

SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the execution of an operation targeting the US Navy ship “Lewis B Puller” while it was sailing in the Gulf of Aden with an appropriate sea missile, a military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie said in a statement on Monday.

“In support of the injustice against the Palestinian people and in response to the American-British aggression on our country, the navy forces launched on Sunday evening a maritime missile targeting a ship belonging to the US Navy named “Lewis B Puller” while sailing in the Gulf of Aden,” the statement read.

According to Sarie, the ship we targeted provides logistical support to the American forces participating in the aggression against our country.

Brigadier General Yahya Sarie affirmed the targeting operation is part of the measures taken by the Yemeni Armed Forces in defense of Yemen and as an affirmation of the decision to support Gaza.

The military spokesmen confirmed that the Yemeni forces would continue to implement the decision to prohibit Israeli navigation or ships heading to the occupied Palestinian ports in the Red and Arabian Seas until the aggression stops and the blockade is lifted on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
