DAMASCUS, Aug. 26 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces have advanced into Syrian territory, specifically targeting the Beit Jinn area, located about 50 kilometers southwest of Damascus, in a clear escalation along the Syrian-Israeli border, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
According to SOHR, a convoy of occupation forces comprising 11 vehicles and several soldiers advanced into Beit Jinn area in Rif Dimashq and opened fire directly on civilians, which sparked a state of public panic.
A few hours ago, the northern countryside of Al-Quneitra experienced a limited advancement by Israeli forces towards the western neighbourhood of Jbata Al-Khashab village, along with movements by tanks in the surrounding areas of the recently-established military base near the village.
Moreover, the occupation forces advanced into the neighbouring village of Taranja, where they raided three houses, before withdrawing towards Tel Al-Hemayriyah.
The Israeli occupation forces were stationed on Leblat hill in the foothill of mount Hermon (Jabal Al-Sheikh) adjacent to Beit Jinn town in Rif Dimashq, after a military convoy comprising 11 vehicles and several soldiers had entered the region, SOHR added.
These actions led to gunfire and widespread fear among the local residents in the areas.
