Cold wave anticipated to grip different provinces of Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 11 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology has expected cold to very cold weather in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin, the center said that cold weather may target in the provinces of of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda, with the possibility of frost forming in parts of them.

The weather is likely to be cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Mahweet, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan, and in the plateaus and deserts of Jawf, Marib, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra.

It pointed out that wind activity continued around the Socotra Archipelago, the southern and western coasts, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden, with speeds reaching 15-23 knots.

The center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children and patients in mountainous areas, inland plateaus and deserts, against the cold weather.
