Saudi Arabia expels 350 members of “Dera Al-Watan” factions, most of them from Al-Subaiha tribes

LAHJ, Nov. 29 (YPA) – Saudi Forces Command expelled hundreds of members of “Dera Al-Watan” factions, most of whom are members of Al-Subaiha tribes in Lahj governorate, southern Yemen.

According to informed sources, Saudi forces expelled about 350 members of the extremist Salafist factions present in the Lahj camps, which had received their training earlier this year in Saudi camps, without giving a reason.

Sources explained that these elements did not include their names in the financial reward statements that Saudi Arabia has been disbursing to these factions for three months.

They pointed out that the leadership of the factions of the Salafist groups does not have any military experience other than delivering speeches that spread hatred against the Yemeni people in Sanaa under regional and sectarian banners, noting that a number of Saudi officers are the ones who manage the financial and administrative affairs of these factions.

Saudi Arabia established “Dera Al-Watan” factions at the beginning of this year (2023) with the aim of achieving military balance with the UAE-backed factions “Al-Amaliqa” and others that are spread in the southern governorates.
