WORLD, Sept. 13 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck the Russian Far Eastern Kamchatka region on Wednesday, a source in the regional branch of the Geophysical Service at the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
TASS quoted a source in the branch as saying: “The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 14 kilometers from the village of Nikolskoye (the only residential community on Bering Island in Kamchatka province).”
The source added that the branch’s experts are currently collecting information on the effects of earthquakes.
