Local offical robbed in Aden

ADEN, Aug 30 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen believed to belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions robbed  a bag for a local official in the middle of a street in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, local sources reported on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted the director of Al-Maflahy district of Lahj province, Ammar Al-Dharhani on the street of Al-Mansoura district and looted a bag in his possession and fled to an unknown destination.”

They pointed out that the STC factions present in Al-Mansoura on Tuesday failed to track the perpetrators.

It should be noted that STC elements have imposed an armed cordon on Al-Mansoura area following armed confrontations with the “February 16 Youth Movement” since last Saturday, following the kidnapping of the movement’s leader, Walid Al-Idrissi, and storming Martyrs’ Square in the region.

Al-Dharhani was kidnapped by STC members in March 2021 while he was in a hotel in the Sheikh Othman district. He was taken to an unknown destination.
