ADEN, Aug 30 (YPA) – Human rights and humanitarian organizations have called for revealing the fate of all those forcibly disappeared in prisons overseen by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Yemen’s southern and eastern governorates.
Anas Al-Sharik, the head of Al-Rasad Organization for Human Rights, held the Saudi-led coalition and its entities (Presidential Leadership Council, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and governorate), responsible for ending the suffering of thousands of forcibly disappeared people in Aden prisons.
“The majority of the forcibly disappeared people are simple families and do not have prestige, mediation, tribalism and regionalism that people are used to,” he said a post on his X account.
He pointed out that the file of the forcibly disappeared in Aden needs to be investigated by “an independent international body”, calling for the disclosure of all the forcibly disappeared, especially since many people do not know their fate without any response from all parties in the city.
According to the organization, about 80% of the forcibly disappeared in the city of Aden come from Abyan districts.
