Security official kidnapped by SC factions in Lahj

LAHJ, Aug. 27 (YPA) – A security director in the districts of Karish and al-Qubeita of Lahj province, south of Yemen, was kidnapped on Saturday by the armed factions belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), after leaving his workplace.

Local media outlets reported that the STC militias kidnapped “Nasher Mohammed Ali” and placed him in the prison of the so-called “Fifth Brigade” camp in the province.

The sources confirmed that the kidnapped’s family had appealed to the competent authorities in Lahj to allow to communicate with him.

The campaign of the STC against sheikh of Al-Suwaidi tribe, Sadiq Al-Suwaidi, came on the background of criticizing, the corruption of the commander of the coalition-run fourth military region, “Fadhl Hassan Ali.”

This came against the backdrop of a massive kidnapping campaign carried out by the STC’s factions against sheikhs and notables from the Sabiha tribes.

Last week, the province of Lahj witnessed the assassination of sheikh “Adel Obaid Al-Euzibi” in the city of Sabr by a leader in the UAE-backed armed factions and the former leader of Al-Qaeda, “Abdul Hadi Faraj,” one of the most prominent sheikhs of the province.
