UAE-backed armed elements launch attack in Marib

MARIB, July. 18 (YPA) – The UAE-backed armed elements launched on Tuesday a large-scale military attack towards the western outskirts of Harib district in Marib province, northeastern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter said that a military unit belonging to the “Third Brigade Giants” launched a massive military attack from “Al Aqil” area and the desert valley linking the provinces of Shabwa and Marib, towards the Sanaa forces’ sites, west of Harib district.

“The light and medium weapons were used between the two sides,” the sources explained. “The Sanaa forces were able to repel the advance and force al-Amaliga or Giants recruits to retreat towards Osaylan district of Shabwa.”

The sources confirmed that the confrontations left many dead or wounded among the two sides.
