SANAA, May 27 (YPA) – The Saudi-led coalition refused requests provided by the international airlines companies to operate flights to Sanaa international airport.
Raed Jabal, deputy of the General Authority for Aviation in Sanaa, revealed in a news statement that several offers submitted by Djibouti, Jordanian, Al-Saeeda airlines and other companies to operate flights to and from Sanaa Airport, but the coalition rejected.
“There is approval by Cairo and New Delhi to operate flights to them,” Jabal said. “The obstruction comes from the coalition by not allowing Yemenia or other carrier companies.”
For his part, Khaled Al-Shayef, a director of Sanaa airport, said that the non-operation of flights from Sanaa Airport to the other destinations agreed upon under the truce attributed to political obstructions by the coalition and not to technical matters.
Al-Shayef stated that the number of flights for a year of the truce has reached only 184 flights, pointing out that only 84 thousand passengers were transported during the truce and compared to 2 million passengers annually before the war on Yemen.
