HDRAMOUT, May 27 (YPA) – A senior leader in Hadramout province announced his defection from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council(STC), following a meeting of the various components from the province in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Abu Bakr bin Aboud Bawazir, is Assistant Secretary-General of the Saudi-formed Hadramout Coalition bloc, and a member of the Hadhrami Uprising leadership, presented his resignation on Twitter.
The Emirati-Saudi conflict in Hadramout was reflected in the various local components of the province, which Saudi Arabia believed that the control of the “STC” over the districts of the Valley and the Desert would represent an Emirati threat in those areas.
Saudi Arabia is seeking to intend to deploy about 10,000 recruits from Dara al-Watan forces” in the districts of Al-Wadi in the coming days, after celebrating today the graduation of a new batch of them in Hadramout.
On Friday, Ahmed bin Brik, deputy of the STC, said in an interview with al-Ghad al-Mushraq TV that an agreement signed with Saudi Arabia to deploy Saudi-formed Dara al-Watan forces from Hadramout sons instated of the Frist Military Region forces loyal to the Islah Party.
Bawazir participated in the consultative meeting held by the STC in Aden, and was one of the recipients of the STC’s president, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, after his participation in the sixth meeting of the so-called National Assembly of the STC in mid-May.
