Senior Sanaa official warns of retaliation over Saudi airstrikes, criticizes airport blockade

SANAA, July 08 (YPA) – A senior Yemeni official in Sanaa criticized on Wednesday remarks by Shaya Al-Zandani, foreign minister in Saudi-backed Aden government, accusing him of attempting to justify restrictions on Yemen’s airports and seaports and acknowledging Saudi Arabia’s role in the closure of Sanaa International Airport.

Mohammed Al-Farah, a member of the Ansarullah political bureau, said in a post on X that the Saudi-backed government should have worked to lift the blockade, reopen airports and ports, and facilitate the return of stranded civilians, wounded individuals, and prisoners over the past 11 years.

He added that there was no justification for defending Saudi Arabia’s policies, stating that any Saudi military aircraft entering Yemeni airspace or carrying out attacks would face a comprehensive response targeting Saudi airports and vital interests.
