Popular rally held in Aden to protest against Saudi Arabia

ADEN, March 01 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens organized on Wednesday a protest rally against Saudi Arabia in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.

In the rally, the protesters confirmed that the so-called “Saudi Reconstruction Center” team, which resides in a hotel in Khor Maksar area, has been procrastinating a file of reconstructing the homes of citizens affected by the air raids and shelling that targeted residential neighborhoods, since 2015.

They indicated that the people have submitted many appeals and memorandums for the past years, without any response and dealing seriously with reconstruction and compensation.

The rally stated that the governments affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition did not give any consideration to the issue of destroyed and damaged homes, for the return to their homes.

All promises of the coalition countries to the people of Aden and the rest of the southern provinces went unheeded, and some of them became a mockery when the coalition’s spokesman Turki al-Maliki announced during the inauguration of the UAE-backed Shabwa governor, Awad al-Awlaki, in early January 2022, “transforming Aden and Yemen into Europe.”

The residents of Aden are suffering greatly as a result of the collapse of all basic services, including electricity, health, sewage, high prices, and deteriorating living conditions.
