WORLD, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The United States is considering imposing new anti-COVID-19 measures on travelers from China, after Japan, India and Malaysia announced tighter rules on arrivals from China.
US officials said that due to concerns about a “lack of data transparency” from Beijing, the United States was considering imposing new COVID-19 measures on travelers from China.
The move comes after Japan, India and Malaysia announced tighter rules for arrivals from China in the past twenty-four hours, due to a surge in coronavirus infections there.
Japan said it would require arrivals from China to present a negative COVID-19 test, while Malaysia imposed more monitoring and follow-up measures.
“There are growing concerns in the international community about the current increases in COVID-19 infections in China, and the lack of data transparency proclaimed by the People’s Republic of China,” the officials said.
