Shabwa tribes threaten to escalate against UAE-backed militia

SHABWA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – Tribes in Shabwa threatened on Thursday to escalate against the UAE-affiliated militia in the city of Ataq of Shabwa province.

Media outlets stated Al-Khalifa tribe, despite its support for the demands for separation, called on the forces of the southern al-Amaliqa quickly evacuating their camp in their lands on the outskirts of the city.

The escalation of the tribes came at a time when other tribes were rising in Arama district of the province and demanding the departure of forces affiliated with Islah from their camps there.
