Al-Hirak warns about consequences of American visits to Hadramout

MAHRA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The Southern Movement known as Al-Hirak on Friday warned about the consequences of American visits to Hadramout Governorate, as  it faces popular, mass and tribal rejection.

In a statement, Al-Hirak accused the US ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, of violating the country’s national sovereignty.

The Southern Movement, which is currently based in Mahra, described the American interventions as blatant and it exposed the American intentions to prolong the war on Yemen and not stop it.

The statement warned against these steps, which violate national sovereignty because of the hidden ambitions to control natural resources.

“The US activity, does not show Washington’s intentions to stop the war “but rather enhances the continuation of the war, prolonging it for long periods so that they can control the resources in those areas,” the statement read.

The statement called on the southern national components to reject suspicious US moves and their ambitions in southern strategic locations.
