ABYAN, Sept. 18 (YPA) – The UAE-funded militia failed to advance towards the area of Wadi Eumran and Ahwar, during fierce battles with Al-Qaeda and Al-Islah elements, in Abyan province.
Local sources confirmed that the militia withdrew from the vicinity of Wadi Eumran and Al-Ahmar area, east of Mudiyah district of the province, after its failure to advance in the area, and to lift the siege on its besieged armed groups in the district.
The sources pointed out that the militias suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment, as there were conflicting reports about the fate of the commander of the Eighth Brigade, Brigadier General Al-Khader Homsan Al-Awdali.
Earlier in the day, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched 3 raids to support the attack of the militias on Wadi Eumran camp.
