HADRAMOUT, July 16 (YPA) – The people of Mukalla city in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, and its suburbs declared a comprehensive civil disobedience on Wednesday in protest against the ongoing economic collapse, the deterioration of public services, and the plundering of the province’s wealth.
Media sources in Hadramout reported that the disobedience includes a complete closure of shops and markets, in addition to a complete halt to movement and official work in the city, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The protesting youth in Mukalla called for this protest to be extended to all districts of Hadramout, noting that the province is witnessing a “deliberate starvation policy” under the control of the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, with no serious action taken to halt these practices, which have exacerbated the suffering of the population.
