Egypt: University student killed by young man over her family’s refusal to marry them

CAIRO, Sept. 04 (YPA) – A university student was killed by a young man in the Egyptian governorate of Menoufia because her family refused to marry them.

 The victim was identified as Amani, 19. She was studying in the fourth division of the Faculty of Physical Education.

 The defendant was identified as Ahmed.  He fired shots at her from a cartridge on the public road and fled and was not arrested.

 The blood soaked woman was taken to hospital but died.
