BAGHDAD, Aug. 26 (YPA) – An explosion of bomb hit a diplomat car belonging to the Australian Embassy in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, Iraqi media reported on Friday.
Rudaw reported that an improvised explosive device exploded and hit a diplomatic vehicle belonging to the Australian convoy on the Baghdad International Airport road leading to the Green Zone in central Baghdad.
According to the network, the explosion took place in Al Qadisīyah, 160 kilometers from Baghdad.
According to the Associated Press, a hand-made bomb exploded on the path of diplomatic vehicles belonging to the Australian Embassy that were moving towards Baghdad International Airport, near the Green Zone.
Despite the explosion, the Australian convoy was able to enter the Green Zone.
Iraqi authorities have also not released any details about the blast. Nor has anyone claimed responsibility for it.
