Petrol tanker explodes in Abyan

ABYAN, Jun. 23 (YPA) –  Several people were killed and injured after a tanker loaded with petrol exploded in Yemen’s southern province of Abyan, local sources reported.’

According to the sources, the tanker exploded suddenly as it was passing through the Naqeel Al-Araqoub, east of  the city of Shuqrah, south of Khanfar district ,leaving  casualties .

The sources did not rule out that the explosion was caused by an attack on the locomotive, especially since the province is experiencing tension between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Islah militants.
