Over 50 people killed in Afghanistan’s earthquake

WORLD, Jun. 22 (YPA) – More than 50 people were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday,  when 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Paktika province, TOLOnews agency reported.

The quake occurred in the middle of the night and killed dozens of people, the provincial police chief said Wednesday.

Local officials reported that many houses had been destroyed due to the quake and that efforts were under way to recover the bodies from the rubble.
