3 UAE-backed militias members killed, 5 injured in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jun. 22 (YPA) -At least three recruits of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed and five others wounded on late Tuesday in an attack carried out by gunmen in Yemen’s oil-rich province of Shabwah.

According to southern media, gunmen launched an attack on a checkpoint belonging to the so-called “Shabwah Defense Forces” near Ibn Amer station east of Ataq city.

The attack left three people dead and five others wounded, the report said.

The attack came hours after unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle of the so-called “security belt” in Ahwar area of Abyan province, killing three recruits and wounding three others .
