Aden-based Judges Club describes measures taken against judges as punitive

ADEN, July 29 (YPA) – The Aden-based Judges Club described on Sunday the measures taken by the coalition-backed Judicial Council as “punitive” against judges demanding their various rights.

In a statement, the club affirmed that the judicial action taken by the council against members of the administrative body came in response to the judges’ general strike demanding their rights to annual bonuses and health insurance, which have been suspended for years.

The statement noted the Council’s commission of numerous cybercrimes, including documented campaigns of abuse, defamation, and assault targeting a number of judges on social media. It warned against any future arbitrary measures targeting members of the judiciary.
