MARIB, March. 22 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces were able on Tuesday to take control over the most important strategic mountain that overlooking Obaida valley in south of Marib province, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources said that Sanaa troops launched an offensive towards coalition’s forces sites in strategic “Laairef” mountain.
The sources pointed out that Sanaa forces advanced with support of artillery unit and raids of drones, and after violent battles, the army liberated the mountain, forcing coalition’s troops and Al-Qaeda militants to withdraw toward Obaida vally.
According to the sources, the confrontations led to killing and injuring dozens of coalition’s troops, including emirs of Al-Qaeda militias, in addition to destroying military vehicles, while tens of Sanaa forces fighters were killed and wounded.
