HADRAMOUT, Feb. 27 (YPA) – Several leaders of Al-Qaeda organization arrived Sunday in Sayoun city, the capital of the oil-rich Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
Well-informed sources reported that leaders of al-Qaeda arrived Sayoun coming from Marib and Abyan provinces with some of their armed followers to the headquarters of the “First Military Region” loyal to the military leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.
This comes after the confrontations that erupted between the “37th Armored Brigade” troops affiliated with Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood) and tribal gunmen last weekend in Al-Khasha’a area, which left eight dead and wounded, in addition to the destruction of a tank and a military vehicle belonging to the brigade.
The UAE is seeking to expel Islah troops from Hadramout valley by financing the tribes loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) demanding the exit of the First Military Region forces and recruiting of 25 thousand instead of them from the sons of Hadramout Valley districts.
