Sanaa calls on UNMHA to compel coalition to commit to Hodeida agreement
HODEIDA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – The National Team of the Redeployment Committee on Sunday called on the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) to oblige the other party to implement its obligations regarding Hodeida agreement.
This came during the meeting of the team head, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Ali Al-Mushki, with UNMHA’s head, General Michael Perry.
At the meeting, Major General Al-Mushki demanded reactivating the monitoring points and working with the joint mechanisms of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, as previously agreed upon.
The meeting touched on the security situation in Hodeida and the needs of the National Mine Action Center to clear and mark dangerous areas contaminated with mines and cluster bombs.
In the meeting, Al-Mushki strongly condemned the international silence towards the recent escalation of “the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition” and the intensification of air raids on Yemeni provinces.
He stressed that the Yemeni people have the legitimate right to defend themselves against the aggressions of the coalition countries.
The head of the national team stressed the need for the United Nations to play its role in humanitarian aspects, including the re-opening of Sanaa International Airport and the port of Hodeida, distancing them from any conflict and neutralizing the national economy.
