Sanaa forces inflict Amaliqa troops heavy losses in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 03 (YPA) – The Yemeni army was able on Monday to repel a wide-scale infiltration attempt carried out by UAE-backed Amaliqa forcesin south-west of Shabwa province and forced them to withdraw without achieving any advance, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources affirmed that violent battles broke out over the past hours due to the offensive carried out by Amaliqa militants towards the army’s sites in Haid Bin Aqil area of Osailan district, adding that the army inflicted them heavy losses in lives and equipment.

According to the sources, Ataq hospitals received 41 dead of Amaliqa militias and 57 injured ones in an initial toll.
