BAYDA, Jan. 03 (YPA) – Local authority in Bayda province condemned Saudi-led coalition’s bombing of Afar Customs Center in Al-Sawadiyah directorate of Bayda province.
In a statement, the local authority said the coalition’s bombing of the customs square in al-Sawadiyah was a war crime in addition to the crimes of targeting civilian installations, infrastructure of the Yemeni people, the country’s capabilities and the property of citizens.
According to the statement, the Al-Sawadiyah Customs was established to alleviate the suffering of citizens and facilitate customs procedures in coordination with the relevant authorities in the head of the customs service, in addition to informing the United Nations Office of its services.
The statement stressed the deliberate targeting of civilian objects by the aggression is a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian norms, conventions and laws.
The aggression as already targeted the Customs Square with three raids in May 2020, in which civilians were killed and injured in addition to destroying dozens of locomotives loaded with food and goods
