TRIPOLI, Dec. 16 (YPA) – Commander of Al-Samoud Brigade, colonel Salah Badi has threatened to close all state institutions in Tripoli because they “work abroad, not inside”.
This came in a video posted on Facebook, showing Badi speaking during a meeting with a group of supporters, launching a violent attack on UN Secretary-General Stephanie Williams’ adviser and the way the election is supposed to take place.
“There will be no presidential elections for as long as men exist, and I agreed with the men to close all state institutions in Tripoli,” Badi added.
“We will not accept elections in this way. Things are going to change from this hour. We agreed on a simple decision that would turn things upside down.”
He also attacked Stephanie Williams, who visited Misrata on Wednesday. She had a “criminal role” during the April 2019 events (the Tripoli attack). She will not stay on our territory.”
