OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Nov. 06 (YPA) – Six Palestinian prisoners continue their open hunger strike in the Israeli occupation prisons, in refusal of their administrative detention, amid fear of the death of one of them.
This comes in light of the failure of the occupation authorities to respond to their demands and setting a date for ending their detention and releasing them.
It is noteworthy that the oldest prisoner among the six prisoners is ‘Kayed Phosphos’, who has gone on a hunger strike for 115 consecutive days, calling for an end to his administrative detention.
Media had published pictures of the prisoner Miqdad al-Qawasmi, who had been on hunger strike for 108 days, where he appeared in pictures of skeletons, which sparked widespread anger among Palestinian youth, especially on social media platforms.
The prisoners on hunger strike in enemy prisons are: Kayed Phosphorous has been on strike for 115 days, Miqdad Al-Qawasma has been on strike for 108 days, Alaa Al-Araj has been on strike for 90 days, Hisham Abu Hawash has been on strike for 81 days, Shadi Abu Aker has been on strike for 74 days, Ayyad Al-Herimi has been on strike for 45 days.
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority stated that the health conditions of the striking prisoners are extremely dangerous, warning that the health condition of the prisoner ‘Phosphos’ is deteriorating, and that he has reached a very difficult and dangerous stage that may lead to his death at any moment. He suffers from severe pain all over his body and feels hot and hot in the eyes, severe fatigue and inability to move, and he does not feel his feet at all.
