SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday that 10,000 Yemeni children have been killed or maimed since the beginning of the war waged by the coalition in 2015.
The spokesperson of the organization, James Elder said in a statement to the United Nations in Geneva after his return from a visit to Yemen: “The war on Yemen has reached a disgraceful level, we now have 10,000 children either killed or maimed since March/2015, that’s the equivalent of four kids every day”.
Many of the killings and maimings of children were not recorded, There are about 11 million in total, who need humanitarian assistance in Yemen, while about 400,000 people suffer from acute malnutrition.
